Dear High, Dear Central High: Central High School 1854-1902

The second building served Central High School and its growing student population until 1902. The red brick structure stood at Broad and Green Strees, on the southeast corner of the intersection. It, too had an astronomy observatory. the building served as the central Manual training School after the academic component moved across the street in 1902 into a gothic-styled building with two observatories, and a large library endowed by the Barnwell Trust.
