The gentlemen's agreement of no local building being constructed higher that the brim of William Penn's hat lost its meaning by the 1980s. The newest example of Philadelphia skyscrapers is the Comcast Center Building under construction in Center City. The close-up of Penn shows the details of the bronze statue sculpted by Alexander Milne Calder and hoisted in place atop City Hall in 1899
